Onyo hilo kutoka katika ofisi ya kamisheni ya haki za binaadamu linatokana  mauaji ya kiasi ya watu 200 katika kijiji cha wavuvi, cha Baga kilichopo katika jimbo la Borno, ambako inadaiwa jeshi limeuwa idadi kubwa ya watu katika operesheni yake didi ya wanamgambo wa vikundi vya waislamu wenye msimamo mkali.

Kutokana na mkasa huo Umoja wa Mataifa umesema serikali ya Nigeria inapaswa kujiepusha kutumia nguvu kupita kiasi dhidi ya raia katika vurugu zinazoendelea kati ya Waislamu na Wakristo. Aidha umeitaka serikali ya Nigeria kuunda chombo kitakachoratibu mazungumzo baina wanagambo wa kiislamu wa kiislamu ambao wanadaiwa kufanya mashambulizi kadhaa ya mauwaji ya raia wasio na hatia.

Waziri wa zamani atekwa

Katika hatua nyingine waziri wa zamani wa mafuta wa Nigeria ametekwa wa watu wenye silaha waliovamia gari yake nje ya msikiti mmoja katika jimbo tete la Maiduguri, jimbo ambalo linaelezwa kuwa ngome ya kundi la Boko Haram.

Shetima Ali Monguno mwenye umri wa miaka 87 alihudumu kama waziri mafuta katika ya 70 pamoja nakushika kwa zamu nyadhfa ya kiti cha ukuu wa nchi zinazozalisha mafuta (OPEC) mwaka 1972.

Mtoto wa waziri huyo wa zamani Abubakr Ali Monguno aliliambia shirika la habari la Ufaransa AFP kwamba wamezungumza na watekaji nyara na pia walimpa simu baba yao na kusema hajambo na anaendelea vizuri lakini akadokeza kuwa watekaji hao wanataka fedha ili wamwachie waziri huyo wa zamani, ingawa hawasema wanataka kiasi gani.

Walio shuhudia tukio hilo wanasema alitekwa muda mfupi baada ya kutoka msikitinia wakati akitaka kuingia katika gari lake. Pamoja na kundi la Boko Haram kutajwa katika kuhusika na vitendo kama hivyo lakini mpaka sasa hakuna aliejitokeza na kueleza kuhusika kwake.
