Just last month alone, more than 160 people were reportedly killed in clashes between farmers who are ethnic Christians and herdsmen who are mainly Muslim. But at its core, the conflict isn't about religion. It's a battle over resources and livelihoods: The herdsmen need land for their cattle to graze on, but the farmers say they need water and land to grow crops.
