World in Progress: Elderly in India

In India, elderly people were traditionally treated with a lot of respect, but the rapidly changing society poses a lot of challenges, and there are many cases of abuse and discrimination. Though the majority of India's 1.2 billion inhabitants are younger than 35, there are more than 100 million Indians over 60, and their number is set to triple until 2050.
