Winless Ingolstadt appoint Walpurgis
November 12, 2016The Bavarian club have just two points from their opening ten games after losing Ralph Hassenhüttl to RB Leipzig and dismissed Kauczinski after a defeat to Augsburg in their last match before the international break.
Walpurgis left his job with Osnabruck in 2015 and has a big task on his hands stepping up to the top flight. But he's not daunted.
"I'm glad to be part of this club. Together we will try everything to remain in the Bundesliga," he said. "It's important that every person in and around this club works as part of a big team. It will be tough but we can do it.
"The team has to regain the passion for football and the urge to win. I spoke with them today and I'm very confident."
Despite Ingolstadt's desperate start, all is not lost. Their next fixture is away to Darmstadt, who sit six points above Ingolstadt, just clear of the relegation zone.
