Voters in Ireland have rejected the proposed European Union Treaty. In Thursday's referendum -- the only popular vote on the treaty in any of the EU's 27 states -- just over 53 percent voted for the "no" camp, with the "yes" vote totalling 46 point six percent. The Lisbon Treaty had been designed to streamline decision making in the expanding EU. The no vote in Ireland has though left the bloc in disarray with Jean-Claude Juncker -- the chairman of the eurozone finance ministers -- saying the reform treaty will not be able to enter into force from the start of next year as planned.
