The European Union has condemned the trials of a French woman and two Iranians working for the British and French embassies in Tehran on a number of charges, including spying for western governments. The Swedish EU presidency said in a statement that "action against one EU country, citizen or embassy staff, is considered an action against all of the EU". The three were among those arested during the protests following June's disputed Iranian presidential elections.
