The Cyprus border between the Greek south and the Turkish north is about 200 kilometres long. More than 800 UN peacekeepers patrol the area. There are now six border crossings which allow residents to visit the other side. The increased contact between people has created a new mood in favour of reconcilliation..though some suspicion remains on both sides of the border.
