# All day long, the country has been remembering the events of two decades ago, when two Germanys became one. The focus of those celebrations is now right here in Berlin... Tens of thousands of people have gathered at the Brandenburg Gate to enjoy a special programme of events, including choral and orchestral performances, pop music and speeches. Earlier in the day, the main official ceremonies took place in the city-state of Bremen -- where President Christian Wulff said German unity was an occasion to celebrate, but also a time for reflection.
