Twitter support
May 31, 2014Some of Germany's famous sportsmen and current internationals are giving their backing to the national team collecting their fourth World Cup. The hashtag #WirFuer4 - translating as "four for us," or perhaps "we're for four" - has gone viral on the social media network Twitter, driven at first by domestic channel Sport 1.
By the end of Germany's training camp in South Tyrol, even coach Joachim Löw was tempted to join reporter Jochen Stutzky for a four-fingered photo, captioned by Stutzky: "Everything's sorted now! The fourth title's in the bag," plus a winking face.
Formula One championship leader Nico Rosberg and golfer Martin Kaymer were two of the famous faces showing personal support on their visit to Italy.
Those who will be in control of Germany's destiny in Brazil were keen to show their determination for the fourth world title.
Below, Jerome Boateng appears supremely confident ahead of the tournament. Others on Twitter include both Oliver Bierhoff and Mario Götze.
Even support has come from those aspiring to be representing Germany at future tournaments. These youngsters, Arsenal's Thomas Eisfeld and Borussia Dortmund's Koray Günter, are two faces to keep an eye on.
Former Bayern Munich player Anatoly Tymoshchuk is, perhaps, only half-convinced of German glory at the 2014 World Cup.
