Reporters Without Borders issued its annual report today - and it shows that new police powers that are part of anti-terror measures are continuing to stifle press freedom. The study notes slightly fewer violations in the U-S compared to last year - but the detention of Al-Jazeera cameraman Sami Al-Haj means the United States is still unable to join the leading nations. The US ranks 48 out of 167 countries. Germany improved its standing - moving to number 20. The organization is especially concerned about Burma. +++SYN-MAZ+++
