It's not an end, it's a beginning. Mayans believed in cycles, not linear timelines. It is just the end of the Mayan Long Count Calendar. The apocalyptic notion came with the Catholic Spanish.  -  Jenny Harris

What ancient Mayan prophesy? The nearest that I know about is something that was made up in the 90's to sell books that is based on the end of a cycle in the Mayan calendar (like the equivalent of the 999 in our calender). And, as that calendar was no longer in use when Europeans first met the Mayans we don't know for certain how the calendars match up, it's all based on a 'best guess' scenario. - Steph Parker

The world will never come to an end even a million years to come, just the creatures are ones who will end. - Alloyce Rogasian Mtenga

You can't be serious with that question--eh???? - Ingmar Merkel
