Pope Benedict the 16th says the church's sex abuse scandal is a crisis that comes from within the church and that it requires purification and penance to overcome it. He made the comments at a press conference on his way to Portugal - during which he also called for an infusion of ethics and morality into global financial markets. The papal visit culminates with mass at the Shrine of Fatima.
