Parliamentary Elections: Chancellor Merkel calls for a new coalition with the FDP as Germany's election campaign gathers pace

Just little over a week to the German elections - and Chancellor Angela Merkel has expressed renewed confidence her CDU party will perform well. This despite a poll which showed NO increase in support for the conservatives in the past week. In contrast, the survey indicated the Social Democrats have gained ground. But this did'nt seem to worry the Chancellor as she addressed journalists in Berlin today.
