New allegations emerge about September's air-strike in Afghanistan that killed more 140 people

The German defence minister is coming under increasing pressure over a German ordered airstrike in northern Afghanistan three months ago. More than 140 people were killed -- including an unconfirmed number of civilians -- in the airstrike ostensibly called to destroy two hijacked fuel tankers. But now reports suggest that the strike was also intended to kill Taliban insurgents. The opposition says this violates the German armed forces' mandate in Afghanistan.
