May Day clashes here in Berlin have left a number of demonstrators and police officers injured - some seriously. A huge police presence was deployed, as several thousand people took to the streets to protest against a neo-Nazi march in the district of Pankow. These two rallies passed off peacefully. Not shy to join the protesters in the first row, was a senior parliamentarian.
