Ibrahimovich to Man United
June 30, 2016Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who joins on a free agent after leaving French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The 34-year-old striker said: "It goes without saying that I cannot wait to work with Jose Mourinho once again. He is a fantastic manager and I am ready for this new and exciting challenge."
The striker scored 152 goals in 178 matches and won four straight domestic titles with the Parisian giants but has hinted for months that he was interested in moving to the English Premier League.
The move to Manchester reunites Ibrahimovic with José Mourinho, who coached him at Inter Milan in Italy. "Zlatan needs no introduction. The statistics speak for themselves. Ibra is one of the best strikers in the world and a player who always gives 100 per cent," Mourinho said in an official club statement.
Ibrahimovic has played for Malmo, Ajax, Juventus and Barcelona, but this is the first time for him in England. Ibrahimovich retired from international competition last week when Sweden were knocked out of Euro 2016.
