Macedonia's parliamentary elections have been overshadowed by violence. Police say one person was killed and several injured when a gunman attacked a Macedonian Security Patrol in the Village of Aracinovo North of the Capital Skopje. The incident follows several other reports of unrest in the predominantly Albanian region. The central Election Commission has suspended voting in more than a dozen polling stations following reports of unrest. The poll is widely seen as crucial to the Balkan state's aspirations of joining NATO and the European Union.
