Merkel's U-turn 'necessary'

Karl Lauterbach, an epidemiologist and lawmaker for Germany's Social Democrats, tells DW that Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to reverse her plan to toughen coronavirus lockdown measures over Easter was necessary in order to cut losses.
