Iran's supreme Leader confirms President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in his second term in office

Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has officially endorsed president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's second term in office. The ceremony was boycotted by leading moderates including two former presidents. German Chancellor Angela Merkel will not be congratulating President Ahmad-inejad on the inaguration of his second term on Wednesday. A spokesman for the Chancellor said this was in view of the controversial election results. The disputed ballot in June, triggered the biggest protests the country has seen in three decades.
