France declared war on domestic violence during the week, with the government announcing a series of measures specifically targeted against the killing of women, and launched a two-month forum on the subject. The country has among Europe's highest rates of so-called femicides. But from Paris, Lisa Bryant reports activists say much more needs to be done — both in France and in Europe.
