Hitler's 'Mein Kampf' around the world
Hitler's inflammatory manifesto will enter the public domain in 2016, allowing new publications of the work. If Germany has banned the book for 70 years, it is readily available elsewhere.
Signed by the Führer himself
Special hand-signed editions of Hitler's infamous diatribe used to be offered to executives or as a wedding gift. Collectors from all over the world are willing to pay astronomical sums to own these items.
Arabic variation
This Arabic edition was published in 1950. The swastika appears several times on the back cover.
'Mon Combat'
On the left, a French edition of the work from 1939 says: "Every Frenchman must read this book." French Marshal Hubert Lyautey, Minister of War during the First World War and colonial administrator later on, wrote this recommendation - or warning. He died long before Hitler instigated World War II. The picture on the right shows a later edition.
'A work of the modern world'
Hitler tried to conquer Britain for a long time - in vain, as the fighting spirit of the Brits could not be broken. No matter how deeply they loathed the German dictator, they did not have any problems with publishing his manifesto after the war. This advertisement praises it as one the most significant works of the modern world, while recommending noble binding cases.
'My Struggle,' all in red
War devotionals are particularly popular among collectors in the US. In no other country is the demand for Hitler's "Mein Kampf" greater. Auctions for special editions tend to start off at 35,000 dollars.
Hitler in Afghanistan
Street vendors in Kabul sell "Mein Kampf" - totally legally. Nazi propaganda posters are also readily available.
Adolfa Hitlera in Sarajevo
"Mein Kampf" was presented at a book fair in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo in 2013 - in a commented edition, however.
Hitler in bookshop windows
Strolling around on the streets of Tirana, you might end up staring right into Hitler's eyes. In the Albanian capital, it's the most normal thing in the world to display "Mein Kampf" in book stores.
