Going underground in Bucharest

Mitra Nazar, Bucharest, RomaniaJune 13, 2014

At the fall of communism in Romania in 1989, tens of thousands of children living in orphanages ended up living on the streets. Now, 24 years later, Bucharest has an estimated 6000 homeless people living in the heating and sewage system which runs under the city. Of them, at least 1000 are minors. Mitra Nazar took a trip underground to meet them.
