Germany's squad against Chile includes four new faces
Germany's friendly with Chile in Stuttgart will mark 100 days to the start of the World Cup in June. With some key players returning, Löw has also taken the chance to introduce less established players into the squad.
Andre Hahn
The 23-year-old attacker has found stardom at FC Augsburg this season. Just over a year ago, Hahn (left) was playing third-tier football with Kickers Offenbach. But 10 goals in 21 matches for his Bavarian team this season have helped catch the eye of Löw who is looking to add some variation to his front options.
Matthias Ginter
Ginter has already been attracting interest from Barcelona and Arsenal. A solid defender, the teenager has fine passing abilities and has been used in midfield by Freiburg coach Christian Streich this season. Ginter has already surpassed 50 league matches as a professional player.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga
Lasogga's loan move to Hamburg was not a headline-grabbing switch in the summer transfer window, but the striker has adapted well to life in Hamburg. The 22-year-old's powerful physique and sharp finishing talents could help fill the main lone striker position in the national setup.
Shkodran Mustafi
Löw has wasted little time in securing the loyalty of Shkodran Mustafi, the 21-year-old defender from Sampdoria. A former Everton player, he has been capped from U17 to U21 levels and is also being chased by Albania to play for them.
Kevin Grosskreutz
The industrious Dortmunder tucked into right-back for the first half of the season while regular Polish international Lukasz Piszczek sat out with injury. Grosskreutz's determination and energy has helped Dortmund overcome stiff challenges in recent weeks, earning him the chance to show Löw what he can provide the national team.
Miroslav Klose
Klose fell out of favour towards the end of the calendar year through Löw's strikerless formations and strong confidence in Mario Gomez. At the age of 35, this may prove to be Klose's last opportunity to cement a place in the 2014 World Cup squad. He's scored 68 goals in 130 internationals for Germany.
Lukas Podolski
The Arsenal forward returns to the national setup after a short break and will be keen to impress with a fantastic array of options in his position. injuries in London have stalled his performances, but the ex-Köln still possesses impressive DFB statistics with 46 goals in 111 caps.
Bastian Schweinsteiger
Schweinsteiger has slowly returned to full fitness with many experts beginning to question the midfielder's ability to cope with the physical demands of the sport. Yet, he returns to the international pool with 100 caps to his name after making his Bayern comeback in recent weeks.
