Germany's aerospace coordinator says the country should invest in an unmanned mission to the moon during the next decade. Peter Hintze is calling for 1.5- Bbillion euros to be allocated to the program over the next five years. Hintze says the scientific benefits would justify the expense and it would also encourage new technologies.
