German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, and her Spanish counterpart Jose Luis Zabatero opened the CeBit HiTech fair in Hanover tonight. Chancellor Merkel pledged her support for the industry, saying she'd like to make hi-tech a leading sector of the German economy. This year's partner country is Spain and the fair's keynote topic is called "Connected Worlds".
