Hesse state police said the man had stopped to relieve himself in a motorway service station near Haiger in western Germany, but ended up relieving himself of something else after accidentally leaving the money behind in the restroom.

Police did not elaborate on why the man was carrying the "five-figure" sum, but it is clear that the cash could prove to be the largest tip any toilet cleaner will ever earn.
