General Brice Oligui Nguema, the leader of a coup that ousted President Ali Bongo, has said he wanted to avoid rushing into elections. Opposition leader Albert Ondo Ossa, who lost the widely criticized recent presidential vote, claimed the Bongo family staged "a palace revolution" to retain control of the oil-rich country.
