The Italian team launched the car in live stream on its website Friday, with drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen present.

"It looks really nice," said Vettel. "We won't know more until we get to the track."

Mercedes have dominated the last two F1 seasons, with Lewis Hamilton winning consecutive world championships.

Vettel, himself a four-time world champion, finished third in the drivers' competition, winning three races.

"Naturally we want more," said Vettel. "It will be difficult, but hopefully this car will help us achieve it."

After a disappointing fourth place finish in the constructors' standings in 2014, Ferrari brought on team principal Maurizio Arrivabene. He helped them finish second last season, but wants more progress.

"I think this year, we need to push a bit more. We would like to fight until the end for the championship," he said. "I know that is not going to be easy, because our competitors are not sleeping, but we are committed to do our best."

The car features livery that is slightly different than the traditional Ferrari red. Several parts of the SF16-H were painted white, while it also incorporates a push-rod front suspension and a higher and shorter nose.
