German President Christian Wulff has resigned. The step follows months of scandal surrounding his business relations, which could now be subject to criminal investigation. After his resignation - Chancellor Angela Merkel said she would work closely with the opposition to identify a suitable new candidate for the largely ceremonial post. The resignation is a blow to the Chancellor, as she struggles with the Eurozone debt crisis.
