Bundesliga Matchday 19 in pictures
While Bayern were held by Schalke in Munich, Wolfsburg also shared points away in Frankfurt thanks to Kevin de Bruyne. Dortmund went down again on home soil, but Hamburg scored a rare three at Paderborn.
Bayern lack quality, Schalke lack courage
Bayern lost Jerome Boateng to a red card early on after the defender gave away a penalty. Schalke's Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting's spot kick was saved by Neuer though, as Schalke's timid approach went unrewarded. Arjen Robben headed in from a corner, only to be cancelled out Benedikt Höwedes in the same fashion not long after. Bayern are still searching for their form in 2015.
De Bruyne saves Wolfsburg
After beating Bayern on Friday night, Wolfsburg were expected to pick up another three points in Frankfurt. In the end, after a fantastic goal by Stefan Aigner it took Wolfsburg's man-of-the-moment Kevin de Bruyne to save a point for Germany's in-form team. There might have been more on offer for both sides, but both goalkeepers did well.
Herrmann the match-winner, again
Gladbach are quietly picking up 1-0 victories and charging up the table. Their latest, a 1-0 home win against Freiburg, should have been by a greater margin. Patrick Herrmann was once again the man on the scoresheet for Lucien Favre's wasteful side. Freiburg improved in the second half, but weren't anywhere near the quality they showed on the weekend.
All square in Hannover
Mainz couldn't follow up their weekend hammering of Paderborn, as their away form came back to haunt them again. That said, their 1-1 draw in Hannover was an improvement on recent away trips, especially after Jimmy Briand had opened the scoring for the hosts. Elkin Soto equalised in the second half, as Johannes Geis once again impressed.
Turmoil in Dortmund
Raul Bobadilla's second-half goal succumbed Borussia Dortmund to their fourth home defeat of the season. Jürgen Klopp's men are left soul-searching as they lie bottom of the table after 19 matches. Next up: Freiburg, Mainz and Stuttgart for Dortmund in a nail-biting second-half of the year.
Luhukay dismissed
After losing to Bayer Leverkusen 1-0, Hertha Berlin are now 17th on the table. That was obviously reason enough for the club's management to sack head coach Jos Luhukay on Thursday. The club from the capital will now be desperately fighting to find a way to stay up in the top flight.
Fabulous Franco
Franco di Santo just cannot stop scoring when he takes to the field in Bremen shirt. He scored another - his eighth of the season - to fire the River Islanders on their way to a 2-1 win at Hoffenheim. Philipp Bargfrede scored the winner, as Bremen take a step closer to survival.
Hamburg triumph in six-pointer
It's said that games between teams at the bottom of the league are worth six points, rather than three. But even with three, Hamburg will be delighted. Josef Zinnbauer's men cruised to the win at Paderborn with goals from Van der Vaart, Jansen and Stieber.
Nil-Nil
Two of the best teams on the road in the Bundesliga, Cologne and Stuttgart, managed to produce a dull 0-0 draw on Matchday 19. Stuttgart have only managed four wins all season and were happy to sit behind the ball for long phases. Paderborn are next up for Cologne, while Stuttgart face Bayern.
