A Sebastian Schweinsteiger thunderbolt shot gave Bayern Munich victory in Lisbon. Three victories and 7 goals for Bayern. This is the best start ever of a Bundesliga side in the Champions League competition.

But Schweinsteiger turned from hero to villain after 47 minutes when he was sent off for a second yellow card, picked up for a foul on substitute Yannick. Sporting poured everything forward in search of an equaliserbut could find no way past veteran keeper Ollie Kahn.

Tuesday's matches:

Porto 4 Hamburg 1

Hamburg crash to their highhest defeat in Europe in 25 years after losing 4-1 to Porto. The grey and rainy weather in Porto did little to raise Hamburgs spirits. Thomas Doll`s side are in 17th place in the Bundesliga and ... with Germany`s third Champions League place in danger German papers were calling on the players to prove they were not just mercenaries and show some passion.

But it was the 2004 Champions League winners Porto who took the lead through Lisandro Lopez after a mistake by Colin Benjamin....Hamburg then harshly had a goal disallowed after Serbian striker Daniel Ljuboya was judged to have fouled the Porto keeper... and in the pouring rain things got worse for Ljoboya....when minutes before half-time he needlessly handled the ball leaving his arm fully outstretched at the backpost....the referee had no option but to award Porto a penalty. Lucho Gonzalez converted just before half time to put Porto 2-0 up.

Porto's slick passing and movement was too much for Hamburg in the second half. Lisandro got his second to put Porto 3-0 up and Helder Postiga completed Hamburg's misery when he made it 4-0. Piotr Trochowski, Hamburg's new internatioanl got Hamburg`s consolation goal. Porto were the stronger side in all departments and the loss means that Hamburg, who have no points from their first three matches now need a miracle to qualify.

CSKA Moscow 1 Arsenal 0

In the same group Moscow beat Arsenal 1-0 . Germany keeper Jens Lehmann could not stop Carvalho`s tremendous free-kick in the first half. Arsenal fielded a defensive line-up and lacked their usual sparkle. This was Moscow first win against English opposition
