About 1,000 German tourists have been stranded in Turkey after the airline they used went bankrupt during their stay. The first 219 people returned to Germany from Turkey's Antalya region on Monday after being stuck there for several days. They had booked their flight with Interflug, a Turkish company that acquired the name and brand of the former East German national airline. German prosecutors said Tuesday that they are investigating possible fraud by the company as it does not have any kind of bankruptcy insurance. Tourists had to pay a different airline 200 euros ($240) to fly them back home.
