Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has apologised to the 'Forgotten Australians'

Constanze TressNovember 16, 2009

Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has apologised to children who were abused in government care between the 1930s to the '70s. In an emotional speech he said "sorry" for what they had to endure. Around half a million children grew up in government institutions. Several thousand were British children who were sent off to Australia by officials - often without their parent's consent.
