A Recent History of Deadly School Shooting Sprees

Following is a list of deadly shootings in Europe:
-- March 11, 2009: A 17-year-old shoots dead at least nine students, three teachers and three bystanders before killing himself during a shoot-out with police in southern Germany.
-- Jan. 23, 2009: A man with a white painted face and blackened eyes fatally stabbed two infants and a woman at child care center in western Belgium.
-- Sept. 23, 2008: Ten killed in a shooting spree by a gunman at a trade school in Kauhajoki, 300 kilometers north-west of the Finnish capital Helsinki.
-- Nov. 7, 2007: In the Finnish town of Tuusula, an 18-year-old high school student shoots dead six other students, a school nurse and the director before killing himself.
-- Nov. 20, 2006: An 18-year-old former pupil opened fire after storming the Scholl school in the western town of Emsdetten, Germany. He wounded at least 11 people before killing himself.
-- April 26, 2002: In Erfurt, Germany, a 19-year-old high school student who had been ejected from the Gutenberg-Gymnasium school goes on a rampage, killing 12 teachers, two students, a school secretary and a policeman before killing himself.
-- Feb. 2002: In Freising, Bavaria, a former student who had been thrown out of trade school shot and killed three people before killing himself. Another teacher was injured.
